The Online course for Online Communication - NEW FOR 2021
We are increasingly connecting online with colleagues and clients because of the current health crisis, but are we communicating as well as we can in the digital arena?
Clarity Talks is a 2-day Masterclass in communication hosted by journalist, BBC radio presenter and TEDx host, Clare English.
This online course takes us to the heart of communication: whether we have a complex message to convey or a simple passion to impart to others, we are, essentially, just “people telling stories to other people”. Now we have to do this online more often it means learning different skills and techniques so that we can tell the same story effectively and with compassion in a virtual space.
Many people find online communication tiring and difficult: the absence of feedback and eye contact; technological difficulties; and being self-conscious in a different medium - all of these factors present considerable challenges. If professional communicators and lecturers find it difficult, how much harder must it be for clients and colleagues to hear the right information and to assess correctly the emotion or compassion we wish to convey?
We need to adapt to the new realities, but along with adversity comes opportunity. This new way of working, thinking and communicating means we need to shake things up in the ways we talk to each other, convey important information and, importantly, inspire one another.
Join us on a creative endeavour to connect and communicate more effectively in this new digital space.

What’s in a TLA?
A one- day ECAS accredited course exploring the three letter abbreviations:
The ECS featuring CBD and PEA; the potential of LDN in pain and inflammation
Course directors: Siobhan Menzies and Samantha Lindley MsRCVS
This course is open to veterinary surgeons (veterinary nurses may also attend) and explores the role of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in health and disease. The theoretical effect of the phytocannabinoids, primarily cannabidiol (CBD), will be explained; current human and animal, experimental and clinical evidence will be presented, along with case histories; legal and safety aspects; access to reliable sources; and the opportunity to practice protocols for prescribing. Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), technically an endocannabinoid, is found in mammalian cells and is used widely in some EU countries at an early stage in the treatment of osteoarthritis – we explore the science and practice of treatment.
Low dose naltrexone (LDN) has been used in human medicine since the 1980s. Primary interest was in its potential for pain relief, but, more recently, its use in inflammatory, autoimmune disease and cancer has been recommended. The late afternoon session of the course explains the background to this novel use of a generic compound.
£325 for the day as a stand alone or online day (Zoom Date: 13th June 2021):
£275 if booked in combination with the WVAG/Longview Symposium 12th June 2021
Venue: Knockderry House Hotel; www.knockderryhouse.co.uk OR online if Covid restrictions still exist.
If more than the required number of modules are completed, candidates should state in which course they would like to be examined.
